The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces star-studded lineup of Broadway and Kennedy Center favorites coming together for two performances only on February 11 and 12, 2022, at the Kennedy Center Opera House to celebrate 50 years of Broadway at Kennedy Center.
Hosted by Tony Award Winner James Monroe Iglehart (Aladdin, Hamilton, Supreme Love Freestyle), this unique concert event pays homage to the legacy of Broadway musicals at Kennedy Center, including a special tribute to the late Stephen Sondheim. The celebration will feature the Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block (The Cher show, Falsettos), Alfie boe (Wretched, Find Neverland), Sierra Bogges (Rock school, The little Mermaid), winner of the Tony Award Gavin Creel (Hello Dolly!, She loves Me), Grammy Award winner Christophe jackson (Hamilton, In the heights), winner of the Tony Award La Chanze (Problem in mind, The color purple), winner of the Tony Award Beth level (Prom, The sleepy chaperone), nominated for the Tony Awards Norm Lewis (Porgy and Bess, The Kennedy Center The man of music), Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Andrew Rannell (Falsettos, The Book of Mormon), winner of the Tony Award Francoise Ruffelle (Wretched), several Grammy and Tony Award nominees Vanessa williams (In the woods, Sondheim on Sondheim, “A Time to Sing” at the Kennedy Center) and Tony Award nominee Tony yazbeck (Fly over the sunset, on the city). The additional cast will be announced at a later date.

With 40 pieces on stage Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra, the concert will be conducted by Marc Bruni (Beautiful, the Kennedy Center The man of music, and How to succeed …) with the musical direction of the winner of an Emmy Award Rob berman (Shining star, Finnian’s Rainbow), choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter (Rock school, Disaster!), scenography and projection by Paul Tate DePoo III (the Kennedy center The Who is Tommy, The man of music, Free of any tie), lighting design by Cory pattak (the Kennedy center The man of music, Next to normal, Little shop of horrors), sound design by Dan Moses Schreier (Fly over the sunset, Problem in mind) and costume design by Alejo vietti (Holiday Inn, Beautiful).
