YADKINVILLE – The Willingham Theater will host the Jeff Little Trio on stage with Hickory Bend to open the show on April 19 at 7:30 p.m.

With few exceptions, the piano does not play a significant role in Appalachian or American music, and is rarely the main instrument. Jeff Little is an exception – and a remarkable exception. Its distinctive two-handed style, heavily influenced by the tradition of flat mountain guitars, is breathtaking with its speed, precision and clarity.

Little’s involvement with violin tunes, old time country, and traditional blues dates back to his childhood in Boone, where his family’s music store was a regular gathering place for musicians who simply stopped by to choose. some tunes. Little, along with his trio, remains busy traveling the country giving concerts with an energy and dedication to their music that is evident at every show.

Based in Yadkin County, Hickory Bend performs traditional bluegrass and gospel music. Made up of residents from across the county, the name is derived from the amalgamation of the communities they represent: Lone Hickory and East Bend.

The concert is a special event to kick off the 34th annual Yadkin Valley Bluegrass convention. The official convention begins the next day, April 20, at Yadkinville Elementary School.

Tickets cost $ 22. For tickets and more information, visit or call 336-679-2941. The Willingham Theater is located in the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center, 226 E. Main St., Yadkinville.
